Data Element Subject Area Controllable set of entities that support the overall mission of the enterprise from the perspective of a specific organizational view. Customer, Product, Material, Employee, Supplier, Location, Sales & Marketing, Finace, Legal, Delivery, Schedule, Order
Data Element Name The common name for an individual data element used in the enterprise.  
Data Element Physical Name  The physical name defined for this occurance of the data element   
Data Element Description Contains the detailed explaination of the business meaning of the element in the context of the enterprise.   
Data Element Business Name The formal business name for an individual data element used in the enterprise based on a standardized naming convention.

Data Element Acyonym Name  A common acronym coding for the data element.  
Required Element Flag Indicator that denotes if the element instance or value is required to have content (not null)  
Derived Element Flag Denotes a data element instance whose value is obtained from some expression or business rule dependency on other data elements  
Domain Name The descriptive term for the conceptual domain. Age, Amount, Code, Count, Date, Day, Identifier, Key, Month, Number, Percent, Period, Sign, Text, Time & Year
Domain Description Detailed definition information about the domain.  
Domain Acronym Name Common acronym name used for identifying the domain in the enterprise.  
Domain Business Definition The business description of the data element  
Domain Type Name  Common generic logical data type associated with the domain  
Domain Precision Quantity The required degree of percision after the decimal pointhat the domain requires  
Domain Scale Quantity The required level of scale before the decimal point that the domain requires  
Domain Range Minimum Value The lower boundry of the numeric values for the domain  
Domain Range Maximum Value The higher boundry of the numeric values for the domain  
Domain Value Flag Indicates whether the domain has domain values (lookup)

Valid Domain Value Flag Indicates that a data element value is a valid domain value.  
Invalid Domain Flag Indicated that a data element value is not a valid domain value.  
Data Element Steward Name A person assigned by the enterprise to perform a role in defining, maintaining or approving business metadata at the data element level.  
Language Reference The language defining the data element  
Data Element Originator The application where the data element orginated within the enterprise  
Personal Identification Information Flag Flag to denote that this data element falls within the relm of personal identification information according to US government standards and it usage must be safeguarded within the enterprise

Yellow columns are client specific additions to the model
